Terms of Service

The terms that govern use of the Qurani.ai website, APIs, MCP server and AI assistant integrations.

Last updated: 18 October 2026

These terms apply to the Qurani.ai website, public APIs, MCP server, developer dashboard and any integration of Qurani.ai inside AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT (together, "the Service"). The Service is operated by Misraj AI ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service is provided "as is"

We provide the Service free of charge for personal and non-commercial use, under the Misraj Non-Commercial License (NCL) that also covers the open-source project. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Quran text, translations and tafsir are reproduced from their original sources with care, but you should verify any passage against a printed mushaf before relying on it for religious rulings, publication or teaching.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service.

2. Fair use

The Service is shared infrastructure for the Muslim developer community. To keep it available for everyone you agree not to:

  • Overload the Service, for example by sending abusive request volumes, running load tests against production or circumventing rate limits.
  • Mass-scrape or bulk-download content for the purpose of redistributing it as a competing dataset or API.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts or API keys, or our infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to transmit malware, spam or unlawful content.
  • Misrepresent the Service or imply endorsement by Misraj AI without permission.
  • Share, sell or publish your API keys. You are responsible for all usage made with keys issued to your account.

3. Quran text, translations, tafsir and audio

The Quran is the word of Allah and is not owned by anyone. The specific digital editions, translations, tafsir works, recitations, fonts and mushaf layouts available through the Service belong to their original authors, publishers, reciters and institutions. They are credited in the edition metadata returned by the API and in the documentation.

You must preserve attribution when you display content obtained from the Service, and respect any additional terms attached to a particular edition by its source. Misraj AI does not claim ownership of this content; our rights extend only to the software, data structures, indexes and tools we created.

4. Changes to, or termination of, the Service

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will try to announce breaking API changes in the documentation and on GitHub in advance. We may suspend or revoke access and API keys that violate these terms.

5. Commercial use

Commercial use of the Service or of the Qurani.ai software, including embedding it in a paid product, reselling access or using it inside a for-profit service, requires prior written permission from Misraj AI. Email [email protected] to discuss a commercial license.

6. Developer accounts and paid plans

You must give accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. Paid plans give access to advanced tools under the quota shown at purchase. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change pricing with notice on the website.

7. Use inside AI assistants

When the Service is used through Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, these terms govern our tools and the content we return. Your use of the assistant itself is governed by that platform's own terms. AI assistants may paraphrase or misquote; always check verses against the exact text returned by the Service.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be brought before the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

9. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date above indicates the current version. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
