Connect to Claude and ChatGPT
Qurani.ai exposes its Quran tools through a public MCP server. Once added, your assistant can read verses, translations and tafsir, search the Quran, compare narrations and more, with every answer grounded in the exact text.

Works on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
- 1
Open Connectors
In Claude go to Customize > Connectors (the button above takes you there).
- 2
Add a custom connector
Click "Add custom connector".
- 3
Paste the server URL
Enter the MCP server URL shown above. If asked for an authentication method choose "No sign-in"; the server is public and needs no credentials.
- 4
Click Add
Claude verifies the server and lists its tools. You can block individual tools from the connector settings if you wish.
- 5
Turn it on in a chat
Start a new chat, click the + button, select Connectors and switch Qurani.ai on. Then just ask about the Quran.
On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings > Connectors, then members click Connect.
ChatGPT
Requires Developer mode, available on paid ChatGPT plans.
- 1
Enable Developer mode
Open Settings > Apps (or Connectors), then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode. Confirm the warning about unverified apps.
- 2
Create a connector
Back on the Apps page click Create (sometimes labelled "New connector").
- 3
Fill in the details
Name it Qurani.ai, paste the MCP server URL shown above and choose "No authentication". Tick "I trust this application" if shown, then click Create.
- 4
Use it in a chat
Start a new chat, open the + menu, choose More and select Qurani.ai. ChatGPT will call the Quran tools when your question needs them.
OpenAI renamed Connectors to Apps in late 2025. Depending on your version you may see either label.
Other MCP-compatible apps
Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, Windsurf and most agent frameworks accept a remote MCP server over HTTP. Add this to your MCP configuration:
{ "mcpServers": { "quranhub": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.qurani.ai/gw/mcp" } }}Example prompts to try
Once connected, ask things like:
- “Show me Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) in Arabic with the Sahih International translation.”
- “Which verses in the Quran mention patience? Give the references.”
- “Compare the Hafs and Warsh narrations for page 1 of the mushaf.”
- “What does Tafsir Ibn Kathir say about Surah Al-Fatiha, verse 5?”
- “List the reciters available for Surah Yasin.”
- “Give me a random verse and explain the tajweed rules in it.”
What we receive
The assistant sends us only the tool request it decides to make, such as "get ayah 2:255". We never see your conversation. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
